J. Burner Crew (Burner) is the Managing Director and Founder of Nirvana Analytics (June 2008), a full-service Asset Management and Consulting firm located in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Burner earned a degree in Econometrics from Columbia University in New York and is currently a Registered Investment Advisor. Burner’s expertise encompasses many aspects of public finance and economic development: municipal general obligation and revenue bond financing. Burner has worked extensively with officials responsible for municipal finance activities in several states, municipalities, colleges, and universities.

Nirvana has raised A and B round capital for early-stage companies for the past 14 years.

He began his financial career at E.F. Hutton in 1986. In 1993 he joined McDonald & Company, a regional investment banking firm specializing in municipal finance and the Public Sector. They were acquired by Key Bank. Burner has a broad range of experience from debt issuance to fixed income trading.

Burner was an on-air financial consultant for Fox 8 News for nine years. He also served as National Sales Manager and ran the fixed income group based in Mid-Town Manhattan and covered State Treasurers until his retirement from Key in 2008.

Burner is also the Managing Director at Nirvana Healthcare Ventures (January 2020 – Present), a venture capital firm focused on funding high-growth, early-stage Midwest healthcare companies. By leveraging various relationships, he seeks to source, fund, and help scale the region’s most promising early-stage transformational healthcare companies across the Midwest.
